Prudential Real Estate Ranked Highest for Seller Satisfaction in J.D. Power and Associates' 2010 Home Buyer/Seller Study

Key Largo, FL - Prudential Real Estate and Relocation Services, a Prudential Financial, Inc. [NYSE: PRU] company, and Prudential Keyside Properties announced that Prudential Real Estate ranks "Highest Overall Satisfaction for Home Sellers Among National Full Service Real Estate Firms" in J.D. Power and Associates' 2010 Home Buyer/Seller StudySM.

The study measures customer satisfaction of home sellers and buyers with major national real estate companies. Overall satisfaction is determined by examining four factors for the home-selling experience: agent (44%); marketing (30%); office (15%); and services (11%).

Among home sellers, Prudential Real Estate scored highest on a 1,000-point scale and received particularly high ratings from customers in the marketing and agent factors. This is the second time in three years the Prudential Real Estate Network ranked highest in seller satisfaction. The Network also ranked highest in 2008.

"This distinction underscores the satisfaction level and consistency of our network through challenging times in our industry," said Jim Mallozzi, chairman and CEO, Prudential Real Estate and Relocation Services. "Affiliate to affiliate, our sales professionals are the local-market experts who market and price homes right, while providing attentive service. The more you know us, the more you love us."

Added Earl Lee, president, Prudential Real Estate and Relocation Services: "The Prudential Real Estate Network already enjoys one of the highest average selling prices in the industry. And, this prestigious J.D. Power and Associates designation demonstrates that our sales professionals are representing their customers with distinction."

The team at Prudential Keyside Properties works hard to exceed the expectations of its clients - sellers and buyers alike, explained Shawn Wilson, broker/owner, Prudential Keyside Properties. "In today's market, our clients require all the expertise and service we can offer - and by leveraging Prudential's brand strength, its broad product and service offerings and its effective Internet marketing programs, we provide sellers with the exposure they need for their homes."

The study finds that despite the popularity of home selling and buying resources on the Internet, the real estate sales professional remains key to customer satisfaction with real estate companies. A large proportion of both home sellers and buyers rely on the Internet to facilitate the buying or selling process, with 79 percent of buyers saying that they used Internet tools to help them in the purchase process, and 82 percent of sellers reporting that they used a website listing to market their home. In addition, among home sellers, online methods are the most important aspect of marketing.

However, the sales professional carries the greatest importance among the factors that comprise overall satisfaction among both home sellers and buyers.

According to J.D. Power and Associates, although the Internet provides real estate consumers with the ability to perform some essential tasks - such as listing a home for sale or researching a neighborhood in which to purchase a home - it still does not replace the importance of a good sales professional. The knowledge and expertise provided by experienced sales professionals are important benefits of using a full-service real estate company.

Satisfaction averages 768 among those customers whose homes sold within five months or less, but declines considerably to an average of 702 among customers whose homes took seven months or longer to sell, the study showed.

Nearly one-half of respondents in the study (46%) reported using recommendations from family or friends to find their real estate sales professional. Approximately 32 percent used a sales professional they had used previously, 22 percent used the internet and 12 percent used a listing agent for property.

The study reports that home buyers were shown an average of 17 homes before they made a purchase. Home sellers reported that, on average, their home was shown 12 times, and about two open houses were conducted before a sale occurred.

The 2010 Home Buyer/Seller Study includes 3,096 evaluations from 2,817 respondents who bought or sold a home between March 2009 and April 2010.

It's great to be a Floridian! Witnessed the takeoff of Discovery STS-131! PDF Print E-mail

Last week, I was privileged enough to get tickets to one of the last space shuttle launches in our history! This was the last space shuttle launch that would take place at night. The shuttle took off just before dawn as scheduled.

The rocket soared into the air at 6:21 AM. My entourage and I stared with amazement from the causeway at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral Florida. A four hour drive North of the Keys.

This was incredible to see live. The causeway inside the Kennedy Space Center is six miles away from the launch pad but that's as close as you can get. Any closer than that and it becomes dangerous. That plume of "smoke" That we see when the shuttle takes off is actually water vapor. 400,000 gallons of water released to abate the noise. Just amazing.

I attached NASA's official video.

Very cool! Florida really has so many neat things to do! From space exploration to wrestling with alligators, scuba diving to sport- sail fishing, beautiful beaches and friendly people. Sorry Boston, I love you and miss you but Florida is a land of it's own!

Key Largo Seafood Festival A Great Success! PDF Print E-mail

What a great weekend at the First Annual Key Largo Stone Crab & Seafood Festival! The two-day event drew amazing crowds, even despite the overcast skies on Sunday, and everyone loved the Saturday night fireworks display (the cheers could be heard a half-mile away)!

Prudential agents manned their booth both days and had loads of fun! We were the only real estate company with a presence at the festival, and both sales & rental agents were on hand to help the many nice folks who stopped by to chat. We passed out brochures, discussed sales & rental properties with visitors & locals alike, offered visual tours on the several laptop computers on hand, saw lots of old friends and made lots of new ones. We even raised almost $200.00 with a 50/50 raffle to benefit the Red Cross's Haiti Relief Fund (half of the proceeds went to the raffle winner & the remaining half to the Red Cross), and we send our heartfelt thanks to all the booth visitors who donated to that cause!

The music was good, the food offered by area restaurants & other vendors was wonderful, the weather was great -- all in all, it was an amazing weekend in the Fabulous Florida Keys! We look forward to next year's event, and hope to see everyone there.

Welcome to the new Prudential Keyside Properties. Our intent is to make your online experience one that combines necessary, up to the minute, real estate information, with a sense of what the Keys are all about. Unlike most markets, where price is mostly a matter of neighborhood and quality of home, the Keys are a far more diverse collection of small enclaves and individual properties. Few neighborhoods have the insular qualities of conventional communities. Here, the 1968 model "trailer" sits comfortably on its ocean front lot, next to a multi-million dollar palace. That may be a bit of a stretch, but one visit and you'll say it's not far from the truth.

Our job when working with buyers is to listen intently to the lifestyle choices, and find the property that best matches that buyer's vision. Unlike most destinations, price does not correlate directly with the existing property. It's much more a matter of location. One can change the physical, the bricks and mortar (or concrete blocks, or tin!) but there are many options for location. Each special in its own way. Deep water, Canal, Ocean or Bay, Neighborhood park, Boat ramp. Distance from Key West, or Miami. Then we narrow the available choices in a particular style or size of home. It's a complex puzzle. Sure you can do it alone, but talk about eating up a whole vacation trying! Whew! We're here to help. We know the market. Give us a few minutes of your time, and we'll ask the right questions to lead you to your piece of Paradise.

Enjoy the site. And enjoy browsing our links to the Keys. Remember, it's not just a destination; it's a lifestyle.

Marketing your home with Video! PDF Print E-mail

We have so many options today to market our listings, so many ways to get creative, make them stand out above the rest. Internet marketing is the best way to reach out to potential buyers. The most crucial aspect to successful internet marketing is to catch the eye of the viewer. You can put whatever you want on the internet, but are people going to be interested enough to view it? We see flashy media everyday, all over the internet and TV. I incorporate this into my real estate marketing as well. See below for one example. Enjoy!
